When you support Brilliant, you transform mental health and addiction care.

Mental illness affects one in five Canadians and at least 20 per cent of people with a mental illness also have a co-occurring substance use problem. All of us will be touched by mental illness or addiction either through our families, friends or colleagues.

How Brilliant helps

In the last five years, St. Paul’s has seen a 95% increase in visits due to mental health and substance misuse. With more than 10,500 visits for mental health and addictions last year, St. Paul’s ER sees the highest volume of patients with mental health and substance use issues in Vancouver.

Funds raised at Brilliant will support the Mental Health Hub, which will provide faster, more intensive care for some of our most vulnerable patients, and strengthen patient supports from acute care to community care; as well as support our world-leading addiction program at St. Paul’s, which is demonstrating provincial leadership through a range of initiatives.

St. Paul's aims to not just be the first stop, but the best stop on the journey to wellness.
